We are continuing our Monthly Big Island Beekeepers Association meetings online and really appreciate all of you being a part of the conversation!
Our next monthly meeting is via Zoom on Tuesday August 11. This month we have the pleasure of welcoming our guest speaker Mary Reisinger, the 2020 American Honey Queen! She serves as a national spokesperson on behalf of the American Beekeeping Federation, a trade organization representing beekeepers and honey producers throughout the United States. She travels nationwide promoting and speaking at venues and is joining us next week to give a presentation followed by time for Q&A! We've asked that she introduce the program she's a part of, her position and duties and to cover topics that could be helpful to Hawaii's beekeepers, what type of outreach she does, some of the latest research and findings of the ABF, etc. We had the pleasure of hosting the Honey Queen (Caroline Adams) in 2013 when the Honey Festival was put on at Nani Mau. These young women are true professionals, traveling and promoting our industry each year!
Please join us for Mary's presentation and bring your questions for her.
The link to the meeting and password to join are below. The meeting link will go live at 6pm. We suggest you try to access the link at 6pm when the BIBA Board signs on to help you test things out and to get familiar with the features. You can join via desktop or smartphone( via the Zoom app). You do not need to participate with video if you don't want to. Just audio is fine. If you do want to ask questions, make sure to find the mute/unmute audio button on your screen. It should be in the bottom left. And don't panic. If you hear people but your audio isn't working, you can listen along and still be able to type in your questions into the Zoom meeting chat box! We anticipate a decent size group so please be mindful of online etiquette.
