Reminder tonight is the last meeting of the year for BIBA.
The honey entered into the competition, will be available to pick up tonight.
Tonight is the election of officers for 2014.
We hope to see you there.
Aloha, BIBA members and friends,
Our last BIBA meeting of the year will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 17, at 6 pm at the Kamana Senior Center, 121 Kamana Street in Hilo. The meeting will begin with a potluck, so please bring a dish to share.
The meeting is very important, because it is also will be the annual election of the Board of Directors. The following positions are available:
Please give some thought to running for office! We tried to make some positive changes this year, our membership numbers have increased greatly, and we want to continue down this path.
Feel free to bring friends to the meeting! If you haven't renewed your membership recently, you will be able to do that at the meeting. We will need a quorum of 25% of the membership in order to hold the election, so please try to come.
If you would like to run for office, and would like to prepare any kind of statement for the membership, you may send it to me and I would be happy to forward it to everyone.
The 2013 Honey Challenge and Hawaii Honey Festival is now over. We believe that at least 2,000 people attended the event! Hopefully you were able to be there. It seemed like a good time was had by all, and beautiful ribbons were awarded to beekeepers in many categories of honey. If you were a winner, congratulations! The competition was very stiff, we had over 130 honey entries this year (as compared to 43 last year!)
Thank you for a great 2013. Happy Thanksgiving, and see you in December.

Big Island Beekeepers Association
